Yellow Smocks, Hearts of Gold

The Tootsie Roll Drive is just around the corner, Friday-Sunday next week around town and after all masses. One recipient of your generosity is Clarkston SCAMP. Celebrating 51 years helping special needs individuals experience the nurturing outdoors in a summer camp environment. The program starts in late June and runs through the month of July, but fundraising takes place all year.

As mentioned last week in the bulletin, the donations from the MI “tootsie roll” Drive (Mentally Impaired) are split between the Special Olympics, SCAMP, and Brandon Special Ed. 80% of the donations stay right here in Ortonville, split between our two local charities, while 20% goes to statewide Special Olympics. The St Anne Council takes no money for administrative purposes.

From SCAMP’s newly redesigned website: “We provide safe, high-quality programming led by trained staff. Through music, art, recreation, and community field trips, we create fun and meaningful experiences that build confidence, independence, and connection.” Check out their story and be inspired at clarkstonscamp.org

Please pray for the safety of our Knights next weekend, and consider donating (and getting some candy) for a good cause.
