It’s been a time-honored tradition for the Ortonville Knights to coordinate the parking for the CandyCane CHRISTmas Tree Farm, and we are now scheduling for the 2025 season. Visit kofc6824.org/parking/ or our latest blog post at KofC6824.org
The farm is located at 4780 Seymour Lake Rd, Oxford, MI 48371. It was started in 1977 by Frank and Cathy Genovese with their two sons. Since 2009 the farm has been verified as an Environmentally Friendly Farm. It’s still run with ecological stewardship to this day by our parishioner Cathy with her son Michael.
We are only parking cars for two weekends; we need a full signup for each shift to handle the compressed season this year. Brothers, please consider taking a short 4-hour shift. Cathy Genovese has been traditionally very generous with her donations to our charities.
One way we use money from fundraisers such as this is to participate in the nationwide Knights of Columbus Coats For Kids program delivering over 200,000 coats yearly. I’m happy to relay that we received six cases of coats this year (up from 3 last year). Jim Kelty runs our Coats for Kids program, and we went to Flint to receive the shipment last week. We then dropped off three cases to the Flint Center for Mercy. They were very excited to receive 3 dozen men and teen coats for their ministry (see the pic on our blog post at KofC6824.org). Next week I’ll tell you where the other three cases are going. Thank you Jim Kelty (2025 Knight of the Year) for your work with the Knights!
Vivat Jesus,
Bryan Born, Grand Knight
