Coats for Kids

For the last 5 years the St Anne Knights have purchased and delivered Coats for Kids to the Jail and Outreach Ministry in Pontiac, MI (our involvement in distributing Coats for Kids actually goes back decades).

From their website: Jail and Outreach Ministry is an all-inclusive ministry organization. We serve and minister to all individuals affected by crime-victims, offenders, families. We provide hope and healing through an approach to the total person that encompasses quality care, attention to individual spirituality, emotional well-being, and human dignity.

Over 1,500 KofC councils distributed more than 200,000 coats in the US to deserving children last year. And 2023 pushed us past the milestone of One Million coats donated!

This year, thanks to the generous parishioner support in our fundraising efforts, we increased our donation from $500 to $855, purchasing three (HUGE) boxes of coats which Past Grand Knight Jim Kelty is delivering this week. When it happens, a photo will accompany this write up on our website: KofC6824.org

Speaking of fundraising: PARKING Support for CandyCane ChristmasTree Farms begins in just a couple weeks. We still need coverage by willing Knights, Family and adult parishioners. Free all-you-can-eat donuts, cider and coffee is provided, as well as a home cooked hot lunch. Must have drivers license to participate. Four hour shifts available both AM and PM. Visit kofc6824.org/parking/ and sign up today for your favorite time.

Lastly, Knights and honored guests please note that our general membership meeting is always the SECOND Tuesday at 7:30pm in the Knights’ Room adjacent to Solanus Hall. If you would like to be an honored guest, I’d love to have you! Reach out to me any time.

Warmly,

Bryan Born, Grand Knight
