Ukraine Solidarity Fund

The Russian invasion of Ukraine spurred one of the largest relief efforts in Knights of Columbus history. Since February 24, 2022, we have prayed for peace, collected more than $23.4 million for the Ukraine Solidarity Fund and worked tirelessly to bring help to more than 1.6 million victims of war – particularly refugees, children, widows and orphans, people with disabilities and the elderly. You were a part of that. Thanks to your support, Knights of Columbus is continuing Blessed Michael McGivney’s mission to care for the most vulnerable and bring hope to those in need.

Through our Knights of Columbus Charity Convoys, we have delivered 7.7 million pounds of food and supplies, along with more than 250,000 care packages. This is the equivalent of two Charity Convoy semitrucks sent every week for nearly 100 weeks.

Many Ukrainians are without electricity during the winter. This means no light, water or heat, plus severely limited communication. The Knights stepped in, and now nearly every Ukrainian parish with a Knights of Columbus presence has a generator. Parishes have become oases of community, warmth and hope.

Thanks to the St. Anne parishioner donations and the fundraising we accomplish, your council is increasing what we’ve already given to the Ukraine Solidarity Fund. We are currently examining our hearts and our budget to arrive at a meaningful ongoing donation until the need is gone. Stay tuned (and if you’re interested, come to the next general meeting.)
