I’d like to take you back. Imagine Hardy Hall filled with church pews, with the altar where the little library is now. It is Sunday July 18 1976. That Sunday, 37 gentlemen were admitted to the First Degree of the Knights of Columbus and formed what is now known as the Father George Ging Council 6824 here at St. Anne. They had their picture taken to document the founding ceremony.

On Wednesday September 30th our Council had our Annual Appreciation Dinner and 50th Anniversary celebration. Close to 80 Knights and their wives enjoyed a fabulous meal prepared by Italia Gardens, with decorated cake for dessert.
Past Grand Knight Bryan Born was awarded 2026 Knight of the Year for his photography skills and many contributions, and Gary and Chris Putt were awarded 2026 Family of the Year for Gary’s 25-year continuous leadership of the MI Drive (“Tootsie Roll Drive”).

We rounded out the celebrations with Past Grand Knight Bryan Born and Grand Knight Jeff Mackey being presented with a commemorative plaque by Worthy State Treasurer Dan Fuller to honor our Council’s 50th Anniversary.
Thank You to all those that helped organize, set up, and clean up afterwards – it was a great event and truly special for our Council, and for all Knights. Here’s to the next 50 years!
